A Different Kind of Surgery

Remember all those dental surgeries I was having early this year? Yeah, that stuff is still going on. Last Friday I had my fourth or fifth one (lost track) with two more to go; one major and one minor. This is relevant to the blog because I managed to gain 10 pounds over the course of 24 hours.

Yes, 10 pounds. In a day. I nearly cried.

I am thinking and hoping it’s 90% bloat, because when you’re put under anesthesia, your plumbing shuts down and you get a little backed up. It didn’t help that all I had to eat on Friday was sodium-laden soup. I was so puffy by the end of the night, it was almost painful.

Saturday morning, I paid a visit to a local juice bar and picked up a 3-day cleanse.

The juice itself wasn’t bad at all and I found them to be very filling. I was even too full to finish the fifth and sixth bottles of the day. I continued with the juices this morning, then promptly had a beer and wings at Buffalo Wild Wings while watching football. But I only had one beer! Yay me? Oh well, I tried. I hated myself a little for trying a cleanse; I’ll be honest.

Here’s a super cute picture of Bow and Sioux to end your week on the right note.

Well, you know you would have had to eat about 35,000 calories, wait, probably more because you would have to take off what you need for daily living…so….it’s water:)

Did you have an IV for surgery? Those SALINE solutions they put into your are, as it says, full of SALINE! I am considering some minor elective surgery, and thinking maybe I could lose a few pounds as I recover, but I also know the saline IV will put on some weight too. I hate that. Couldn’t they give you something to help you through surgery that wouldn’t put on the weight, even if it’s just temporary water retention???

Surely it is impossible to gain weight so fast. Must be the drugs, so I think the best thing to do is drink lots and lots of water, so they can dilute them and take them out. And please resta and take care of yourself, the body needs time to recover.
